Some people write to generate business, others for vanity, and for some people it is something that they just have to do.
For this new author he is looking for the book to generate new consultancy business so is using it as a marketing/brand vehicle. If this is the driver then all your efforts should be focused on diving people to the website where you can engage then in whatever it is you do.
